Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are essentially crowns bonded together to form a larger reconstruction that replace single or multiple missing teeth. It is one of the most common restoration method used for replacement of missing teeth. Bridges are a permanent option (unlike dentures) and they provide a natural looking smile.

In order to fit a bridge the teeth on either side of the gap are cleaned and trimmed away to make space for the artificial teeth. Once the adjacent teeth are prepared the dentist takes the impression/s needed for the fabrication process.  A temporary bridge can be fitted to protect exposed teeth. On the final visit, the fabricated bridge is fitted, adjusted and then permanently cemented.

There are many different types of bridges that differ by the manufacturing process and the way they anchor to the neighbouring teeth.  Bridge units can be made of porcelain, metal, acrylic fibre, zirconium or other precious metal.

Dental bridge prices start from £570 with My Dentist Abroad ( three unit bridge).  Usually two short visits are required to complete the treatment. It  could also be completed in one longer trip (4 to 6 days) but only when the patient is clear of any infections (i.e. root canal or gum infections).
